Silent Legacy (Katseiden alla) to Premiere in Finnish Cinemas on February 13, 2026

Silent Legacy , to be released in Finland under the title Katseiden alla, will have its theatrical premiere on February 13, 2026. The film had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in August 2025, where it was presented in the prestigious Critics’ Week competition programme.

Directed by Jenni Kivistö and Jussi Rastas, Katseiden alla blends observational documentary with contemporary dance to explore identity, belonging and the lingering legacy of colonialism through the deeply personal story of Sibiry, a West African choreographer who has lived in Finland for over a decade.

Katseiden alla follows the filmmakers’ previous work Colombia in My Arms (2020), which won the Best Nordic Documentary at the Göteborg Film Festival and the New Nordic Voice Award at Nordisk Panorama. The Finnish theatrical distribution is handled by Pirkanmaan elokuvakeskus (PEK).
